Spay & Neuter Program

​Services offered and fees are as follows: 

All prices listed are for low-income pet-owners.

This service is available to all pet owners, however pricing will be

adjusted for pet owners who do not qualify for the low-income pricing. 

​​CATS - All spays include a general exam

​

• Spay - $225.00  ** Additional charges may apply for Pyometra & in-heat

• Neuter - $175.00  ** Additional charges may apply for Cryptorchid

• Rabies vaccination - $10.00 (required if your pet is not vaccinated)

• Microchip - $25.00 (no additional registration fees are required)

DOGS - Under the age of 5  - Under 40 pounds only 

​

All dog procedures require a pre-surgical exam prior to the surgery. 

Please note:

• a 4DX test and a Wellness exam are required for spay/neuter. ** additional fees will apply. **

• Additional pre-surgical tests may be required ** additional fees will apply. **

• Spay - $325.00-450.00  Fee varies by weight 

  •  Additional charges may apply for Pyometra & in-heat

• Neuter - $320.00-450.00  Fee varies by weight 

  • Additional charges may apply for Cryptorchid

Rabies vaccination - $15.00 (required if your pet is not vaccinated)
Microchip - $25.00  (no additional registration fees are required)

If your pet has fleas and/or ear mites we will treat for this and you will be charged as follows: 

• Fleas - $10.00 for Cats / $15 for Dogs

• Ear mites - $10.00

A deposit is required when you complete the request form.

All other fees are due at the time of pick-up.  CASH or CREDIT CARD ONLY - NO CHECKS will be accepted

Should you fail to show up for your appointment (no call/no show) your deposit will not be returned to you.

Deposit Fees:

Deposit fees are non-refundable if appointment is cancelled within 7 days of the appointment.

Please note that processing fees will be deducted from your refund.

Spay Maine
Spay Maine is a collaboration of Maine's animal shelters, rescues, veterinarians, animal control officers and animal welfare advocates who work together to reduce Maine's shelter intakes and euthanasia. Help Fix ME!
The goal of the Help Fix ME is a spay & neuter program working to reduce shelter intakes and euthanasia. The program is restricted to cats and mostly pit bulls and pit bull mixes. This spay/neuter program is for low-income* households only. The portion you pay for a cat is $10.  If you truly cannot afford the $10, there is sometimes limited funding available to help with this co-pay.

• You will qualify for Help Fix ME if you are a Maine resident and receive:  food stamps, TANF, MaineCare, SSI or SSD or have an income below 133% of the federal poverty level (you do not have to be receiving any government assistance).
